Job description

Help shape the future of electronic access control and locking as an Associate Product Manager, supporting both software and hardware initiatives. In this role, you'll support the go-to-market success of connected and wireless products, and related systems-turning user needs into clear and concise product and platform requirements that help customers specify, install, and utilize our technology.

You'll collaborate across the Access and Egress Hardware Group to bring launches to life-supporting positioning, sales enablement, and customer support content, and keeping materials current as features evolve and field feedback comes in. If you enjoy working at the intersection of hardware, software, and customer experience, this is a chance to make a visible impact from concept through launch.

This position will be full-time onsite in Berlin, CT reporting to the Director of Product Management-Electronic Access Controls.

What you will be doing

Marketing: Partner with Sales, Engineering, Marketing, and Customer Service to create and maintain high-impact technical marketing materials for our electronic access control and electronic locking portfolio (e.g., product catalogs, price books, cut sheets, technical sheets, instruction sheets, ordering guides, and product presentations)-making it easy for customers to choose the right solution and move from spec to install with confidence.

  • Create and maintain customer-facing product information for electronic access control and electronic locking, including feature/benefit language, compatibility notes, and configuration guidance.
  • Support product education by delivering digital training and coordinating internal/external enablement content (sales training, customer support references, installer/integrator materials) so the product category is represented accurately and consistently.
  • Assist in product and catalog updates and conformity to ASSA ABLOY standards.

Business Analysis: Stay on top of what's changing in electronic access control and electronic locking-tracking customer needs, channel and competitor moves, and technology shifts to inform decisions and keep the portfolio competitive.

  • Develop business intelligence reports.
  • Work with Product Management and Sales to maintain competitor analysis on electronic locking and access control solutions (locks, readers, credentials, controllers, software/ecosystems).
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Pricing, and Product Data Management team to update price books and implement changes to ERP systems.

New Product Development: Support new product development efforts from concept definition through product launch.

  • Help prioritize and drive product improvement projects based on customer and sales feedback.
  • Create/Modify PowerPoints to evangelize product roadmaps and product/platform updates.
  • Support the NPD team as needed.

What we are looking for

  • Associate's Degree in Product Management, Marketing, or Business.
  • 1-5 years product management, engineering, marketing, or equivalent experience.
  • Energetic team player with passion for completion of projects and tasks.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Prepare for, lead, take notes, and follow up on assigned meetings.
  • High Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Ability to influence and work through cross-functional teams without formal authority.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively.
  • Travel required for this role is up to 20%, primarily domestic.

Preferred

  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science Degree.
  • Experience in door hardware.
