Job Description:

This Inspector 1st-shift position supports a 4/10 schedule and leads initial, in-process, and final inspections of panel, module, and chassis-level assemblies for mission-critical aerospace and defense programs, including TR-3 and F-35 hardware. The role requires advanced expertise in evaluating assemblies against engineering drawings, specifications, workmanship standards, contractual quality requirements, and AS9100 standards; validating product configuration and documentation accuracy; and making informed acceptance or rejection decisions on hardware. Serving as a key partner to Quality Engineers, Manufacturing, and Product Line Managers, the senior inspector helps resolve complex nonconformances, uphold product integrity, drive compliance, and support the on-time delivery of high-reliability aerospace systems.

Essential Functions:

  • Inspect electrical and mechanical hardware to verify it meets acceptance criteria using drawings, procedures, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and precision measuring tools.
  • Perform detailed visual and dimensional inspections, including microscope use, measurement collection, and configuration verification.
  • Document nonconformances, photograph discrepancies, and independently support complex product disposition decisions.
  • Work directly with engineers, product line managers, quality engineers, and customer or government representatives to resolve issues and manage workflow.
  • Review and approve inspection procedures, perform surveillance audits, and identify quality trends or lead root cause analysis efforts.
  • Mentor and train junior inspectors while supporting document control and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to obtain US Government clearance

Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience interpreting 2-D drawings and knowledge of Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing
  • Experience in mechanical inspections utilizing inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, surface plate, electronic and mechanical height gages, pin gages, comparator)
  • One-year certificate in a quality related field from college or technical school desired.
  • ANSI/J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, and IPC-620 latest revisions and ESD Electrostatic Discharge preferred.
