Job description

Waterproofing Inspector / Building Envelope Inspector – Southern California.

Twining Consulting, Inc., an innovative engineering, testing, and inspection company, is seeking a Waterproofing Inspector / Building Envelope Inspector in our Southern California area.

Job Duties:
  • Perform field inspections of waterproofing and building envelope systems, including below-grade waterproofing, traffic coatings/deck coatings, roofing tie-ins and flashing, window and door flashing, air/water resistive barriers (WRB / AB), and sealants and expansion joints.
  • Verify installation in accordance with project plans and specifications, manufacturer requirements, and ASTM / AAMA / ICC / industry standards.
  • Document inspections with detailed daily reports and photos.
  • Communicate deficiencies and required corrections to the contractor and project team.
  • Witness testing such as flood testing, spray testing, adhesion/bond testing, and thickness/mil verification.
  • Coordinate with Project Inspector Description Managers regarding schedule and site needs.
  • Maintain professional communication with clients and jobsite personnel.
  • Follow company safety policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction inspection, waterproofing, roofing, or building envelope work preferred.
  • Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors and access active construction sites.
  • Ability to climb ladders, access roofs, and walk uneven surfaces.
  • Experience with building envelope and waterproofing inspection preferred.
  • ICC Special Inspector certification preferred.
  • ACI/ICC/ABAA/RCI/IIBEC/AWS/NDT certifications preferred.
  • Experience with ASTM / AAMA / building enclosure testing preferred.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license.
