Hill International is seeking a Construction Inspector in Cleveland, Ohio
Hill International is looking for Construction Inspectors with Highway/Roadway and Bridge/ Structures construction experience in Northeast and Central Ohio area for various state, turnpike, county and local agency projects.
Responsibilities
  • Construction administration and inspection services
  • Inspect and ensure compliance with contract plans, standards and specifications
  • Providing daily inspection of construction work within a given discipline to ensure the project is compliant with plans and specifications
  • Measure and verify plan quantities for Contractor pay applications, perform calculations and maintain project records
  • Be proactive and alert project management professionals of any issues that arise in the field
  • Observe field work to ensure workmanship and materials meet quality standards
  • Document work via daily inspection reports and various other reports

Qualifications
  • Must have minimum 2 years' experience working on highway/roadway construction projects
  • Associate degree or greater in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, or related field a plus
  • Prequalified as ODOT Project Inspectors levels 1 and 2:
    • Passing scores of following tests: ODOT Flexible Pavement Test, ODOT Traffic Work Zone Test, ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Level 1, Ohio Level I Aggregate Technician Training (OAIMA)
  • Prequalified ODOT Structures Inspector
    • Same minimum requirements for Project Inspector Level 2 plus the following:
    • ODOT Advanced Structures Test passed
  • Traffic Inspector and Signal Inspector
  • Same minimum requirements for Project Inspector Level 2 plus the following:
    • IMSA Traffic Signal Construction Technician Level II Certification
    • IMSA Roadway Lighting Technician Level I Certification
  • Above prequalification highly preferred; or have the ability to be qualified within 90 days
  • Experience working on ODOT and/or Ohio Turnpike projects a plus
  • NICET Highway Construction Level II Certification a plus
