NeoGenomics is looking for a Biomedical Trainee based out of our Aliso Viejo, CA team who wants to continue to learn in order to allow our company to grow.
Shift: Monday-Friday 9:00am to 5:30pm

Position Summary:
The Biomedical Trainee is responsible for learning all aspects of the installation, maintenance, and repair of biomedical equipment throughout the laboratory. Under the supervision of experienced technicians, the trainee will assist with planned maintenance, repairs, electrical safety inspections, and equipment documentation while developing the technical skills necessary to progress to a Biomedical Equipment Technician I position.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Assist with PMs, repairs, and installation qualifications as assigned
  • Learn calibration, operation, and troubleshooting of biomedical and laboratory equipment
  • Assist with inspections of new laboratory equipment for safe installation and operation
  • Maintain proper documentation of equipment maintenance and repair activities
  • Follow all laboratory safety, quality, and compliance requirements
  • Maintain continuing education through assigned training and developmental activities
  • Effectively communicate maintenance and equipment-related events to affected personnel
  • Support laboratory staff by providing basic equipment operational assistance
  • Identify equipment issues and report findings to senior technicians and management
  • Maintain tools, test equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized manner

Position Objectives:
  • As a team, work productively, expertly, and efficiently to achieve company and departmental goals
  • Develop the technical competencies required for advancement to Biomedical Equipment Technician I
  • Provide responsive support to internal customers while maintaining compliance standards
  • Complete individual training objectives assigned by manager and meet agreed-upon deadlines
  • Continuously provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with all levels of staff

Experience, Education and Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous technical, mechanical, electrical, military, healthcare, or laboratory experience preferred
  • Demonstrated aptitude for troubleshooting and learning technical concepts
  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to execute tasks systematically
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, written and verbal
  • Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to safely lift 50 lbs.
