Job Title: QC Inspector (FARO)Department: QualityLocation: Conroe, TexasReports To: Quality Manager Position OverviewWe are seeking a skilled QC Inspector with hands-on experience in FARO portable CMM systems (Arm and/or Laser Tracker) to support dimensional inspection activities in a fast-paced sheet metal fabrication environment.This role is responsible for ensuring product conformance through precise measurement, inspection programming, and data-driven analysis. The ideal candidate brings strong GD&T expertise, practical shop-floor experience, and the ability to translate inspection data into actionable quality improvements. Key ResponsibilitiesPerform high-precision dimensional inspections using FARO Arm to validate parts against CAD models and engineering drawings. Develop, execute, and maintain inspection programs for First Article Inspection (FAI), in-process verification, and final inspection. Must be able to create programs for new parts to support NPD activities.Ability to integrate measurements into workflowsGenerate and analyze inspection outputs including deviation reports, color maps, and point cloud comparisonsInterpret GD&T requirements to establish datums, inspection strategies, and acceptance criteriaProficient with precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, profilometers, WFT and DFT gaugesDocument and report inspection results, including any non-conformities, in accordance with company's IMS (Integrated management system)Identify and document non-conformances; support root cause analysis and corrective actions with engineering and production teamsMaintain accurate inspection records and prepare reports (including FAIR/AS9102 when applicable)Ensure FARO equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and compliant with certification requirementsSupport internal audits, customer audits, and quality system compliance (ISO 9001 / AS9100 as applicable)Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying trends in dimensional variation and process capability QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification in metrology, CMM, or FARO operation preferredMinimum 1–3 years of hands-on experience operating FARO Arm or Laser Tracker in a manufacturing environment3–5 years of overall quality inspection experience in fabrication, machining, or similar industriesValid and recent certifications are a plus Technical SkillsStrong proficiency with FARO hardware and inspection software (PolyWorks, FARO CAM2, Verisurf, or equivalent)Solid understanding of GD&T with ability to build inspection plans from drawings and CAD modelsExperience with inspection reporting, deviation analysis, and dimensional validation workflowsProficient in conventional inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.)Familiarity with quality systems (ISO 9001, AS9100 preferred)Working knowledge of SPC and data analysis tools is a plus Soft SkillsStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracyProblem-solving mindset with ability to support root cause analysisEffective communication across quality, engineering, and production teamsAbility to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Preferred QualificationsExperience in sheet metal fabrication or welded assembliesExposure to quality management systemsExperience supporting new product introduction (NPI) or pilot buildsLean / Six Sigma exposure (preferred but not required) Key Success MetricsAccuracy and repeatability of inspection resultsReduction in dimensional non-conformancesTimely completion of FAIs and inspection reportsEffectiveness in supporting root cause and corrective actionsEquipment uptime and calibration complianceBenefitsComprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.Paid time off, holidays, and sick leave.Professional development and continuing education support.Opportunities for career growth in a global organization.Ultra Corpotech Inc. is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from all qualified individuals.
