Inspection Project Engineer Jobs in Washington (NOW HIRING)

Soil Consultants Engineering (SCE) is seeking an experienced Construction Testing & Inspection Project Manager to join our growing team in Manassas, Virginia. We are looking for a motivated, experienced professional who can manage projects, lead field personnel, maintain strong client relationships, and ensure our work is performed safely, accurately, and in accordance with project plans and specifications.

 Position Responsibilities

• Manage construction materials testing and inspection projects from start through completion.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders.
• Coordinate and schedule field technicians, inspectors, and testing personnel.
• Review project plans, specifications, testing requirements, and Statements of Special Inspections.
• Provide technical guidance and quality control for field inspection and testing activities.
• Review daily reports, testing documentation, inspection reports, and project records for accuracy and completeness.
• Conduct periodic project site visits and assist with field inspections and testing as needed.
• Monitor project budgets, schedules, staffing, and overall performance.
• Identify potential project issues early and work with the project team to develop practical solutions.
• Communicate project status, changes, and concerns to clients and SCE management.
• Assist with proposals, scopes of work, and estimating for new projects.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
• Ensure projects are completed in accordance with SCE's quality standards and client expectations.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure field personnel follow applicable safety requirements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in construction materials testing, special inspections, construction inspection, or a related field.
• Experience managing construction testing and/or inspection projects.
• Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, and testing requirements.
• Experience with concrete, soils, asphalt, or special inspections preferred.
• ACI, ICC, NICET, VDOT, or other applicable certifications are highly desirable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors, engineers, inspectors, and technicians.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to recognize potential issues before they become problems.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a safe driving record.
• Ability to safely access and navigate active construction sites.
