Location: Santa Monica, CA 90401

Schedule: 8am-5pm

JOB DESCRIPTION

Insight Global is hiring a Maintenance Technician to join a facilities management client to support their end client in the El Segundo market. This is a 4-month contract opportunity with the possibility of extension or conversion to full-time employment โ€“ dependent on performance in the role and business needs. This position requires an onsite schedule, 5 days per week. The role involves performing general commercial building maintenance and labor tasks as assigned by supervisors and Facility Managers (FMs), including loading, unloading, moving materials, and running errands for various projects. The position also requires interior and exterior painting, with expertise in surface preparation and paint application on wood, metal, and drywall, as well as minor repairs to these surfaces. Additional duties include replacing light bulbs, lamps, and ballasts, and cleaning fixtures. During an emergency or escalation, the employee will notify and escort third-party vendors (plumbing technicians, HVAC technicians, electricians) to ensure work is completed correctly and in compliance with client safety and security standards. Prompt response to emergency situations and customer service requests is essential. The role demands adherence to all applicable codes, regulations, and company directives, as well as safe work practices. Proficiency in using technology such as smartphones, tablets, computers, web-based applications, and building automation systems is required. The employee must complete all scheduled safety training and comply with the companyโ€™s uniform dress code, maintaining a neat appearance at all times.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience across commercial property settings handling a variety of building maintenance work orders
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent customer service skills - Computing skills in Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Previous experience using a CMMS/work order system like Yardi or Corrigo
  • Must have a vehicle, valid driverโ€™s license and positive driving record
  • Ability to meet physical demands
  • Must be able to pass a drug background screening
