Familiarity with hospital information systems and electronic health records (EHRs), as well as coding software, is essential. Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to meet deadlines are key soft skills that help coders excel. These competencies ensure accurate record-keeping, compliance with regulations, and efficient hospital reimbursement processes.
