Direct Care Tech - Innova Joy New Braunfels
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administer medication to clients (Medication pass experience preferred)
- Deliver quality care to clients within a residential setting
- Provide supervision of clients while on shift
- Provide appropriate documentation as needed
- Work cooperatively with team members and the client in the provision of services to meet the goals developed in the treatment plan
- Lead various mental health therapy groups following a provided curriculum
- Be available in times of crisis or in intense situations
- Empathetic people who can hold loving and firm boundaries
- Creating and leading mental health groups

- Patient and compassionate with client's emotional and psychological needs
- Basic mental health understanding and an understanding of client's emotional, physical, and personal boundaries

- Knowledge of evidence-based practices utilized in clinical interventions
- Working knowledge of Electronic Medical Record

Minimum Qualifications:
- Understanding of mental health practices (experienced)
- Prior residential experience preferred
- Certification as a Medical Assistant - MA (preferred), Certified Medication Aide - CMA
(preferred), Certified Mental Health Technician - CMHT (preferred)
- Post high school medical education (para-professional nursing, medical, and/or technical)
- Licensed Vocational Nurse students, Social Work students, Psychology students
- First aid/C.P.R. (preferred)
