Responsibilities
Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is seeking a Quality Engineers to join the Quality Control Services Team. Function as an experienced Quality Engineer (QE) to support one or more programs/projects and perform oversight and mentoring of technical staff. Support the effort to implement and assure quality requirements and initiatives while supporting programs/project assignments in Research and Operations areas of interest which may include Construction, Waste Packaging and Transportation and Procurement. Establish priorities and interfaces with various levels of management within the company and other agencies. Assure compliance with laboratory, corporate, and DOE quality requirements. Review various documents, requisitions, and design documents for compliance with established QA requirements. Review and approve work control documents and input Quality hold and inspection points. Develop Quality inspection requirements. Assist Programs/Projects/Facilities in identifying and developing appropriate quality requirements. Perform and lead quality assurance audits to determine compliance implementation.

 
Minimum Qualification Requirements (Education and/or Experience):
Must have at a minimum a Bachelors Degree plus 5-8 years relevant experience or an Advanced Degree plus 2-6 years relevant experience.  A technical degree desired.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE L Security Clearance.
Special Requirements and/or Training:
Must be able to qualify as an INL Quality Engineer. Must possess a working knowledge of relevant quality and calibration requirements, specifications, systems, rules, and regulations for the laboratory. Must be able to effectively interface with INL and DOE personnel. Must be an effective communicator. Must have excellent oral and written presentation skills. Must have a good understanding and knowledge of quality concepts and practices, be thoroughly familiar with codes, standards, and regulations as they apply to various types of projects or work activities. Core competencies for this position are communication, problem solving, adaptability, judgment, collaboration, leadership and decision making.
