Summary:
The Offset Ink Master is responsible for managing the Offset ink production and inventory for the Offset press.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
  • Responsible for blending ink for press to meet production schedule.
  • Must produce color swatches for customer approval.
  • Maintain and manage ink inventory and work-off ink blending.
  • Must attend daily pre-production meetings for review of jobs for ink usage information.
  • Will have daily interaction with internal and external customers.
  • Responsible for testing incoming materials and finished inks to set parameters.
  • Will maintain all records and produce monthly inventory and usage reports.
  • Explain or present the Offset ink blending process to groups as needed.
  • Will cross train with press personnel.
  • Responsible for the overall Safety and cleanliness of equipment and area.
  • Work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Overtime is required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED minimum.
  • Minimum 4 years prior experience in Offset ink blending and/or Offset Lead pressperson.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers and the ability to participate in or lead customer discussions.
  • Must have good computer skills and be proficient in Excel and Word documents.
  • Requires the ability to react quickly and make continuous adjustments to provide top quality products.
  • Normal vision is required.
  • Must have excellent color skills and be able to pass the color blind test.
  • Good math skills required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. May require the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. May require the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
