Job description

Description

Performs all computerized tomography imaging studies while under the general supervision of a licensed practitioner for the purposes of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders at a technical level not requiring constant supervision and within the scope of their license.  

Flexible scheduling for 8 or 12 hr shifts. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Performs all computerized tomography imaging studies and administration of contrast media.
  2. Verifies physician orders for instructions from requesting physician and consults with the radiologists.
  3. Performs equipment warm up, calibration and safety check as needed. 
  4. Responsible for departmental records and proper documentation.
  5. Communicates reactions, complications, changes in condition to appropriate staff.
  6. Performs staff/student education and orientation duties as needed

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  Education and/or Experience

  • One year of experience in  Cat Scan stronlgy preferred
  • Graduate from an approved program in radiologic technology                 
  • CT x-ray equipment system; contrast injector; film laser printer; PCs     
  • IEMA License; AART registration or eligible; CT certification or eligibility by the ARRT
