In addition to ensuring proper technique and maintaining sterile procedures, the role involves monitoring patients for adverse reactions, documenting all administered medications, and providing patient education regarding aftercare. Injection RNs often collaborate closely with physicians, pharmacists, and other nursing staff to ensure patient safety and effective communication. The work can be fast-paced, especially during busy clinic hours or vaccination drives, requiring strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
