Job description

  • Position: Material Handler(Plastic Injection Molding)
  • Location: Berlin, CT (on-site)
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday 6:30am - 3pm (based on business needs)
  • Compensation: $19 - $21/hour (Dependent on Experience)
  • Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Summary: The Material Handler  supports daily production operations by ensuring the accurate and  efficient movement of raw materials, resins, colorants, and finished  goods throughout the facility. This role is responsible for staging  machines, monitoring inventory levels loading and unloading materials,  and maintaining proper documentation to ensure traceability and  production flow. The Material Handler plays a key part in maintaining  quality standards, minimizing downtime, and supporting a clean, safe,  and organized manufacturing environment.

Essential Functions: 
  • Reviewing production schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine the type and quantity of materials required.
  • Utilizing the bill of materials (BOMs) to determine mix ratios and amounts required for upcoming jobs.
  • Creating mixes per job specifications and properly staging material to support production flow.
  • Reviewing drying times and melt temperatures for resins.
  • Utilizing a forklift to transfer materials from stock area to production floor.
  • Receiving, weighing, documenting, labeling, distributing, and storing materials.
  • Updating inventory levels (plastics, concentrates, inserts, packaging, etc.) in IQMS (ERP) system.

Ideal Candidate Experience:
  • Previous forklift operation.
  • 2+ years of Plastics Injection Molding experience.
  • Understanding of how to operate grinders, dryers, and other injection molding machinery.
  • Strong computer literacy and ability to use ERP System (IQMS experience preferred).
  • Be a team-oriented professional with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to add using ratios as well as read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, or maneuvering.
  • Ability to work in a loud manufacturing environment.
