Position Overview

The Mold Maker is integral to the company's continued success, working closely with customers and internal stakeholders. This is a hands-on, highly technical role suited for a skilled craftsman with strong mechanical and mathematical abilities.

As a lead mold maker, you will interpret blueprints, operate machine tools, fabricate and adjust parts, and ensure molds meet quality standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professionals looking to grow and refine their skills in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Must have lead mold building experience with injection molds.

Responsibilities

  • Use sketches, blueprints, specifications, and models to plan fabrication operations efficiently and safely

  • Inspect finished parts using dial indicators, gauge blocks, calipers, micrometers, and other inspection tools

  • Utilize hand and machine tools to assemble, repair, and modify tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures

  • Inspect completed tools and dies for imperfections or damage

  • Repair molds, dies, and tools; disassemble and reassemble as required

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with manually operated and progressive dies

  • Interface with internal teams and external customers to resolve production issues

  • File and finish workpieces to ensure proper fit and smoothness

  • Select appropriate metals and materials based on project requirements

  • Follow ISO 9001 standards and quality protocols

Education / Experience

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Proven experience as a Mold Maker (lead-level preferred)

  • Ability to stand for extended periods

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively

  • Excellent visual accuracy and attention to detail

Preferred

  • Completion of apprenticeship or trade school program

  • 3-5 years of mold-making experience
