Job description

Job Title: Project Manager - IMS 

Practice: PMO 

Exempt Status: Exempt 

Purpose 

The Project Manager - IMS will be responsible for managing small to medium sized technology implementation projects with low to medium complexity. This position reports to the Practice Director or a Managing Principle within the Apps Associates PMO. 

Job Duties 

  • Collaborate with client contacts managing cross-functional client project team members to facilitate project delivery 

  • Collaborate with Apps Associates project team members, who are both onshore and offshore, to successfully deliver projects 

  • Manage the execution of the project's activities and resources in partnership with the practice technical leads and business partners 

  • Lead project teams through scoping definition and ensure all execution efforts align to project goals. 

  • Lead project team through the production execution of upgrade and migrations which may take place over weekends 

  • Lead the establishment of measurable and achievable critical success factors for the project 

  • Control planning and execution to ensure that cost, time, and quality goals are met 

  • Develop and maintain project plans and related project artifacts 

  • Provide view of plans and progress to date 

  • Manage against the approved budget and recommend course correction as necessary. 

  • Ensure project financial metrics are up to date consistently including project baselines, change orders, estimate to complete and estimate at complete 

  • Conduct periodic stakeholder meetings to ensure status clarity and clear expectations 

  • Adhere to the Apps Associates project management methodology 

  • Possesses the ability to turn troubled projects around when and if needed 

  • Utilize Apps Associates internal application technology for project management functions including Project Management, Estimating, Resourcing, and others. 

  • Make continuous improvement a priority - The Project Manager should have a solid grasp of basic and many advanced project management principles, along with having experience in successfully applying and advancing those principles. 

Travel Requirements 

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 75% if needed 

Work Requirements 

  • Remote work approved with on-site/customer facing work required periodically depending on project phase and/or customer requirements 

  • For remote work, associate must have a dedicated space to conduct/attend meetings and perform job duties 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. If Associates Degree, must have minimum 6 years work experience. (focus in Business Administration or Information Systems preferred) 

  • 4+ years of consulting experience, most recently in a Senior Consultant, Manager, or similar level role 

  • Leadership of a minimum of four (3) full life-cycle implementations in the Project Manager role 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  • Strong time management, organization, and collaboration skills  

  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project or Smartsheet (preferred) 

  • Proficiency with the Microsoft suite of business productivity tools (for example: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, One Note, Teams) 

  • Strong understanding of the cloud software development lifecycle including waterfall, agile and hybrid methodologies. 

Project Management/Technology Experience Requirements: 

The Project Manager must have project management and/or hands on experience with at least two (2) of the following technologies: 

  • Infrastructure Project Management 

  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) 

  • Amazon AWS 

  • Microsoft Azure 

  • Oracle Database migration and/or upgrades 

  • ERP upgrade/migration experience 

  • Oracle Cloud ERP (Fusion, SCM, Financials) 

  • Oracle HCM or Oracle PeopleSoft 

  • Oracle EBS 

  • Other relevant experience 

  • Oracle Fusion Middleware 

  • Custom Software Development (within the Enterprise space) 

  • Integration technologies such Boomi, Mulesoft, Oracle Cloud Integration Service or equivalent 

  • Salesforce implementation experience 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • PMP Certification (PMP, PGMP, CAPM, PMI-ACP) 

  • Oracle Cloud Project Management Practitioner 

  • AWS Cloud Practioner
