Job description

ABOUT KALLES GROUP:

Everyone deserves to be secure. Our mission at Kalles Group is to help secure the future for companies of all shapes and sizes.

While our expertise spans multiple disciplines, our method remains consistent: building trust and relationship with people -- whether you are a client, a consultant, or--in this case--a candidate.

No matter what role you come from--whether you're an executive or just starting your career-you can expect our highest level of attention and respect. We want to find the right fit for each role, but we also want you to find the right fit for your career.

We believe the best way to show you what our team is like is to treat you like you're already a part of it. We hope you'll consider joining our team of experienced professionals who are building their careers at Kalles Group—and having fun while doing it.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

As a Senior Hybrid Infrastructure Engineer Consultant, you will help design, implement, and support modern hybrid infrastructure solutions that span both enterprise on-premises environments and Microsoft Azure. This role calls for an experienced, consultative engineer who brings strong technical judgment and architectural thinking to hybrid infrastructure, and who can independently identify priorities and drive solutions forward. You will play a key role in evolving infrastructure capabilities while ensuring systems remain secure, scalable, resilient, and aligned with business needs.

You will work across compute, networking, storage, identity, security, monitoring, and disaster recovery platforms to support a unified hybrid infrastructure strategy. In partnership with application teams, security, and operations, you will help deliver production-ready solutions while contributing to automation, infrastructure-as-code practices, and operational improvements. This role also requires adaptability and a forward-thinking mindset, including leveraging AI-assisted workflows and tooling to improve engineering efficiency and delivery outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as a senior technical advisor across on-premises and Azure infrastructure, proactively identifying improvements rather than waiting on direction
  • Architect and administer core Microsoft infrastructure services including Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file services
  • Design and manage virtualization and hyperconverged infrastructure platforms, including clustering and high-availability configurations
  • Lead support of enterprise storage environments, driving monitoring and optimization efforts independently
  • Architect and administer SQL Server environments, including high availability and disaster recovery solutions across hybrid environments
  • Own backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategy as part of a broader business continuity approach
  • Drive endpoint security, cloud security posture management, and infrastructure hardening initiatives
  • Administer certificate lifecycle and PKI solutions in enterprise environments
  • Architect and enhance monitoring, alerting, and observability platforms across infrastructure systems
  • Design and implement infrastructure solutions using Terraform, GitHub, and infrastructure-as-code practices, establishing patterns for others to follow
  • Initiate and lead automation efforts and reusable infrastructure components that improve operational efficiency
  • Act as a consultative partner to engineering, operations, and security teams, shaping solutions rather than executing predefined tasks
  • Utilize AI-assisted engineering tools and workflows to support automation, documentation, and operational improvements

YOUR EXPERIENCE:

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments across on-premises and cloud platforms, with demonstrated ability to operate independently and self-direct work
  • Proven track record as a consultative, solution-oriented engineer — someone who identifies problems and drives solutions rather than requiring task assignment
  • Deep, hands-on expertise with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, virtualization, and clustering technologies
  • Extensive experience architecting and supporting hybrid infrastructure environments using Microsoft Azure
  • Strong command of Azure governance, monitoring, and security capabilities
  • Advanced experience with enterprise storage and backup/recovery platforms
  • Proven experience architecting SQL Server environments with high availability and disaster recovery configurations
  • Solid grounding in networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, subnetting, and firewall concepts
  • Experience architecting infrastructure monitoring and observability solutions
  • Demonstrated experience implementing infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform and GitHub, including establishing standards and patterns
  • Strong familiarity with security tooling and enterprise security best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage automation or AI-assisted tooling within engineering workflows
  • Excellent communication and consultative skills, with the ability to act as a trusted advisor across technical and business teams
  • Ability to quickly upskill and adapt to new technologies and environments with minimal ramp-up support

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing advanced Azure networking solutions
  • Deep familiarity with Azure Arc, Azure Policy, or hybrid cloud governance strategies
  • Experience architecting CI/CD pipelines and workflow automation
  • Advanced experience with Terraform module development and Terraform Cloud
  • Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-500, AZ-800, or AZ-801
  • Familiarity with Azure PaaS services and platform engineering practices
  • Experience architecting self-service infrastructure or internal developer platform initiatives

WHAT WE OFFER:

  • The annual salary range for this role is $140,000-$165,000.
  • We offer Medical, Dental, Vision plans, 401K with matching, and PTO for salaried employees.
  • Work/life balance – we know there's more to life than work! We encourage our team to pursue other passions, get outside, and spend time with family. We work with clients and consultants to set expectations for a manageable workload.

LOCATION:

This role can be remote. Our client is Seattle-based, so work hours must align to Pacific time zone.

HOW TO APPLY:

Please fill out the form below (including uploading your most recent resume) and we'll be in touch! We know imposter syndrome can be a barrier to many great applicants. We hope you'll still consider applying. That's why we've made the application process as short and simple as possible.

Even if you're not a fit for the role, you can expect to hear back from us! We want you to have the best experience as a candidate, so please feel free to share feedback at any stage of the process to talent@kallesgroup.com.
