Job description

Title: Burn Table Programmer
Status: Exempt
Reports To: Director of Engineering
Location: Wisconsin Heavy Fabrication - IES Infrastructure Solutions - Manitowoc, WI
Summary:
Perform duties related to steel identification, inventory management, programming, and prioritization of CNC Plasma and Oxy-Fuel cutting tables.
Responsibilities:
  • Program CNC nests for Plasma and Oxy-Fuel cutting tables
    • Make appropriate adjustments to the processes, such as travel speed, tip size, tip replacement, gas pressures, kerf compensation, torch height, and other factors as needed to produce the desired quality
  • Identify raw material size and grade requirements to support work orders
  • Support management and optimization of flat steel plate inventory
  • Support prioritization of burn table jobs as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings to determine tolerances and identify required trim stock to ensure quality of parts being cut.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Uses and understands measuring instruments, such as tape measure, protractor, and micrometer
  • Robust analytical skills with exceptional reasoning abilities; Ability to make sound decisions with a variety of information
  • Ability to communicate successfully across functions and at varying levels
  • Ability to work on more than one project at a time and being able to switch gears successfully is critical.
  • Must understand the critical nature of maintaining deadlines
