Job description

Analyst, Cyber Recovery Infrastructure

Job Summary: The Analyst, Cyber Recovery Infrastructure is responsible for supporting the daily operation, administration, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the enterprise Cyber Recovery Vault environment. This position supports secure backup replication, isolated recovery capabilities, CyberSense analytics, Linux-based infrastructure, VMware-hosted recovery systems, and network controls required to protect critical data assets and enable reliable recovery from cyber events.


Major Responsibilities

Vault Administration and Operations

  • Administer Dell Cyber Recovery Vault infrastructure and associated recovery components.

  • Maintain Dell CyberSense analytics services, including job validation, alert review, and issue escalation.

  • Verify vault isolation, air-gap operations, scheduled synchronization, and secure access controls.

  • Perform routine vault health checks, remediation activities, and operational readiness reviews.

  • Coordinate vault maintenance windows, change activities, and recovery testing exercises.

  • Maintain operational documentation, recovery runbooks, configuration records, and evidence for audit or compliance reviews.


Linux and Platform Administration

  • Configure and maintain Linux network interfaces, DNS, NTP, SMTP, SSH, system services, and host firewall settings.

  • Manage systemd services and support operating system lifecycle activities, including patching, upgrades, and configuration validation.

  • Troubleshoot Linux permissions, SELinux, service dependencies, performance issues, and system logs.

  • Support secure configuration standards and operational hardening practices for recovery infrastructure.

Backup and Recovery Infrastructure

  • Administer and support PowerProtect Data Manager, Data Domain replication, Netbackup,  and related backup copy workflows into the vault.

  • Validate backup copy jobs, investigate failed replications, and coordinate remediation with storage, backup, security, and application teams.

  • Monitor backup integrity, recoverability, replication status, and Cyber Recovery automation workflows.

  • Support recovery testing, restore validation, and documentation of recovery outcomes.

VMware and Virtual Infrastructure Support

  • Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot Cyber Recovery virtual machines and supporting VMware components.

  • Support virtual networking, resource allocation, host integration, and recovery environment readiness.

  • Coordinate infrastructure changes with virtualization teams to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and change management processes.


Network, Security, and Monitoring

  • Configure and validate isolated vault networking, routing, DNS, and firewall rule requirements.

  • Support secure communication between production, backup, and vault environments while preserving recovery isolation objectives.

  • Monitor synchronization jobs, CyberSense analysis completion, backup recoverability, and recovery readiness indicators.

  • Generate operational reports, identify operational risks, and recommend corrective actions.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field is preferred; equivalent work experience may be considered.

  • Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure operations, backup and recovery platforms, Linux systems, VMware environments, or networked storage environments.

  • Working knowledge of cyber recovery, disaster recovery, backup replication, isolated recovery environments, or data protection concepts.

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across operating systems, storage, backup, virtualization, and network domains.

  • Ability to follow change management, incident management, security, compliance, and documentation standards.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document technical procedures and communicate status to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to participate in after-hours support, planned maintenance windows, recovery exercises, and escalation activities as required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with Dell Cyber Recovery, Dell CyberSense, PowerProtect Data Manager, Data Domain, or related Dell data protection platforms.

  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux or comparable Linux distributions.

  • Experience with VMware vSphere, vCenter, virtual networking, and virtual machine lifecycle administration.

  • Understanding of firewall rules, DNS, routing, secure network segmentation, and isolated recovery network design.

  • Experience creating operational reports, recovery validation evidence, runbooks, and audit-ready documentation.

  • Familiarity with scripting or automation tools such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible, or REST APIs.
