MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES 
Day to day responsibilities include but not limited to:

The candidate for this role will primarily be managing the spend of IT Infrastructure category of and will, on a project-by-project basis, be required to address other categories dependent on aptitude and capabilities.

Sourcing Management (Responsibility):

  • Strategic Management of Category related spend (Infrastructure) by analyzing the spend, business needs, market and leveraging for the benefit of the internal partners and the bank.
  • Manage various deals from a sourcing perspective with a sense of urgency and ability to prioritize 
  • Ability to explain the sourcing process to business partners and enforce the policy and procedure.
  • Employ the sourcing process - collect and assess requirements from business partners, evaluate the market (possibly by an RFx process), negotiate and draft within the contract the business and legal terms favorable to SG (incorporate negotiated terms into the contract - redline), execute agreement etc...
  • Analyze SG Suppliers (Know Your Suppliers - KYS)
  • Support and deliver on Sourcing Group Savings Objectives and other general goals and objectives of the Sourcing Organization. 
     

A Sourcing Manager within the Societe Generale ("SG") Americas Sourcing Department supports the overall goals of the Societe Generale Global Sourcing Department in Paris ("ACHA/DIR") of reducing and controlling SG's cost structure and mitigating commercial and legal contractual risks within the United States.  This role is responsible for evaluating business requirements, leveraging the marketplace for best available financial and service offerings, negotiating and executing contracts. They are responsible for the strategic management of the category and anticipating the business needs both short term and long term. The position requires a skilled, experienced sourcing professional with general knowledge of the Financial Industry, with an emphasis on IT Infrastructure related purchases (Telecom, Networking Equipment/ Services, Data Center Services, Server and Storage Equipment/Services and End User Equipment/Services) and other related services. Sound knowledge of contractual provisions and structure will be required, along with excellent negotiation and contract drafting skills.  Additionally, the individual is required to have strong communication and interpersonal skills.

COMPETENCIES
Required: 

  • Experience developing category strategies and delivering successful outcomes.
  • Must be aware of specific industry, legal, regulatory obligations as it relates to contractual provisions (i.e. new obligations surrounding data privacy, confidentiality, Third Party Risk Management etc...)
  • Strong comprehension of third-party contract structures and terms, as well as, the ability to negotiate and redline/draft terms within a contract. Excellent negotiation skills with absolute capability to lead complex negotiations and deliver the intended outcomes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (including presentation skills).
  • Influential with regards to Internal Stakeholders and External Suppliers
  • Must be a self-starter and able to operate independently in an aggressive environment.
  • Capable of analyzing the commodity of spend for savings opportunities and/or service improvement, develop actionable plans, solicit necessary stakeholder support, execute the plan through sourcing/negotiation (MS Excel proficient; financial modeling)

TECHNICAL SKILLS
Required: 

  • Basic Office Applications, MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint etc...
  • Experience with Procurement/Sourcing related applications

PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE
Required:

  • Minimum of (5) years' experience as a complete sourcing professional with category management experience
  • Experience sourcing other product/services other than Infrastructure related (i.e. Consulting Services, IT services, software products, market data, broker dealer, exchanges, legal, office products, OSPs, Real Estate, etc.....)
  • Contract negotiations both commercial terms (dollars, dates, deliverables) with experience negotiating, to some extent legal provisions
  • Contract drafting/redlining
