Job description

Acuren is currently recruiting for an Infrared Thermograher Technician.


  • Perform infrared thermographic inspections of fired equipment, electrical systems, mechanical equipment, and/or roofing at commercial and industrial job sites.
  • Analyze thermal images to identify anomalies or potential failures
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports using company templates, clearly document findings and communicate with fellow team members and relay that to the client.
  • Represent the company professionally on-site as the primary customer contact.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and customer personnel to ensure clarity and accuracy of inspection results
  • Complete reporting duties in a timely manner.
  • Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations
  • Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results
  • Organize and report test results
  • Perform specialized inspections
  • May instruct and supervise others
  • Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Some college preferred
  • Certified Level II
  • Experience in report writing
  • Perform infrared thermographic inspections of fired equipment, electrical systems, mechanical equipment, and/or roofing at commercial and industrial job sites.
  • Analyze thermal images to identify anomalies or potential failures
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports using company templates, clearly document findings and communicate with fellow team members and relay that to the client.
  • Represent the company professionally on-site as the primary customer contact.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and customer personnel to ensure clarity and accuracy of inspection results
  • Complete reporting duties in a timely manner.  Clean driving record and TWIC.
  • Level II preferred with refinery experience or seasoned Level I able to achieve Level II within 3 months.
  • Thermography certification from accredited institution.
  • Excellent communication skills with individuals at all levels.
  • Solid computer skills, especially with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and FLIR Software.
  • Strong time management, organization, and attention to detail.

Willing and able to travel regularly but mostly in the Houston surrounding area.
