Short Description: NC's Div. of Employment Security (DES) seeks to procure one contractor to fill a Mainframe Programmer Architect role. The primary responsibility is to cleanse data in the current legacy Benefit Payments System and convert the data to Oracle.

Complete Description :* The primary responsibility of this position is to convert and cleanse the data in the Benefit Payments System to the SCUBI System (Southeast Consortium Unemployment Benefits Integration), Test Interfaces and perform Mainframe Logic and Decommissioning.

Qualifications

Knowledge of VSAM file and relational databases

Required Skills:

Technical knowledge and experience with mainframe technical architect, design and solutioning using the following applications: COBOL 10years, CICS 10 yrs, VSAM 10yrs, and JCL 10yrs.

Knowledge and experience in transferring data sets from mainframe applications to Oracle / SQL based programs. 10 yrs

Successful completion of technology projects within area of responsibility, analyzing feasibility, compatability and cost of solutions

Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Desired skills:

Strong organizational skills.

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

Ability to engage business and technical experts in the cleansing and conversion of data from the legacy Benefit Payment Application to the SCUBI Oracle based application.
