Georgia System Operations Corporation (GSOC) is seeking an Information Technology Operations Intern to support enterprise technology operations and initiatives. This opportunity provides broad, hands-on exposure to the systems, cybersecurity, data, applications, service management, and support processes that help GSOC deliver reliable and effective technology services within the electric utility industry.

As an Information Technology Operations Intern, you will work alongside experienced technology professionals while contributing to meaningful projects and recurring operational activities. Based on business priorities and your academic background, interests, and technical readiness, you may support technology assets, IT service management, documentation, reporting, data analysis, cybersecurity, automation, or process improvement initiatives.

This opportunity is ideal for a curious, analytical, and adaptable student who enjoys solving problems, learning new technologies, organizing technical information, and understanding how enterprise IT supports critical business and electric system operations.

What You'll Do

As an Information Technology Operations Intern, you will support projects and recurring activities that contribute to technology reliability, operational efficiency, security awareness, service delivery, and continuous improvement.

You will:

  • Support technology projects, operational initiatives, and recurring departmental activities based on business priorities.
  • Assist with hardware, software, application, and technology asset inventory activities.
  • Help update technical documentation, knowledge base articles, process guides, and standard operating procedures.
  • Assist with IT service management activities, including incident, change, request, and asset management processes.
  • Participate in technology troubleshooting, issue documentation, reporting, and problem-resolution efforts underappropriate supervision.
  • Support reporting, data analysis, dashboard development, or data-qualityprojects as assigned.
  • Contribute to cybersecurity awareness, compliance, automation, scripting, workflow, or process improvement initiatives based on department needs.
  • Organize project findings and communicate progress, questions, or barriers while collaborating with technical and business partners.
  • Present a summary of your projects, accomplishments, outcomes, and key learnings at the conclusion of the assignment.

What You Bring

  • Current enrollment in a degree program in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, ora related field.
  • Interest in technology operations, enterprise systems, cybersecurity, analytics, infrastructure, applications, or IT service delivery.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to organize information and approach unfamiliar technology challenges thoughtfully.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producingaccurate, complete, and well-organized work.
  • Ability to document processes and communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
