As an IT Solutions Engineer, you'll provide a combination of scheduled onsite support visits for your assigned clients and remote support for organizations across LMT's client base. Working as part of a collaborative team of experienced engineers, you'll deliver proactive maintenance and technical expertise while serving as a trusted technology partner to your assigned clients. You'll also act as a Level 2 escalation resource for our Service Desk, resolving complex technical issues and ensuring timely, effective solutions that keep our clients operating at their best.

Day to Day Duties of the IT Solutions Engineer:


The IT Solutions Engineer will have the opportunity to work with diverse technologies and solve complex IT challenges for LMT clients.

  • Collaborate with the team to develop and implement IT solutions tailored to meet client needs
  • Provide on-site and remote technical support to clients, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network-related issues
  • Conduct proactive system monitoring and preventive maintenance tasks
  • Accurately document all client interactions, activities, configurations, and resolutions in LMT’s PSA platform
  • Ensure accurate client documentation by regularly reviewing and updating documentation
  • Regularly communicate with clients on the status and resolution of issues
  • Participate in the Level 2 support call queue
  • Respond to ticket escalations
  • Prioritize and manage multiple service requests while meeting established response and resolution goals (SLAs)
  • Stay current with emerging technologies through continuous learning and professional development.

On-Call Responsibility

  • Perform after-hours on-call duties on a rotating basis
Requirements:
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience supporting servers, workstations, printers and network switches
  • Experience servicing and troubleshooting:

Microsoft Windows Server, Exchange Server, DNS, DHCP Server, SQL Server, and AD

365 user, mailbox, and SharePoint accounts

Microsoft Hyper-V or ESXi hypervisors

Microsoft Windows 10, 11

Microsoft Office Suite

  • Experience troubleshooting enterprise systems
  • Knowledge of VMWare and/or Hyper-V a plus
  • Ability to diagnose and prioritize client issues and properly manage client expectations
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and critical thinking ability
  • Strong documentation habits and process-driven mindset
  • Certifications: A+, MCP, MCSE, CCNA, and other related certifications a plus
  • Knowledge of ConnectWise a plus

Additional Preferred Skills

  • Experience with enterprise backup solutions
  • Experience with SonicWall
  • Experience managing Microsoft Azure Cloud Computing Services
  • Experience supporting and administering Microsoft Intune, including device enrollment, policy deployment, application management, and endpoint troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity solutions while identifying and escalating potential security threats

Work Location


Primarily out of LMT's headquarters in Pittsford, NY, with travel to client locations throughout the Rochester region, as well as a scheduled weekly onsite visit to the Buffalo area.
