Job description

SGM is seeking a Network/Systems Administrator in our Glenwood Springs office.  Our Grand Junction or Durango office locations may be considered. This position is an in-office position.  The ideal candidate has the desire to live, work, and play in Western Colorado. The Network/Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining and supporting the organization’s network, server, and endpoint environments. This role combines traditional systems administration with software licensing management, endpoint deployment, and escalated user support. The position plays a key role in ensuring secure, reliable, and efficient IT operations across on-premises and cloud environments.
This role works collaboratively with the IT Director and other team members; systems and network administration responsibilities are shared.


Key Responsibilities:

Systems & Network Administration
  • Install, configure, maintain, and monitor local and wide area network systems and services
  • Administer servers, storage, virtualization platforms, and cloud services
  • Support data storage, backup, disaster recovery, and system security initiatives
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot operational issues
  • Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvements

Endpoint Management & Deployment

  • Manage workstation and laptop imaging, provisioning, and deployment processes
  • Administer endpoint management and deployment systems
  • Maintain standard operating system images and device configuration policies
  • Support hardware lifecycle management including onboarding, offboarding, and refreshes
Software Licensing & Asset Management
  • Manage software licensing, renewals, and compliance across the organization
  • Track IT assets including hardware, software, and subscriptions
  • Work with vendors and internal stakeholders to optimize licensing costs
  • Maintain accurate documentation of assets and configurations

User Support & Collaboration:

  • Provide Tier 2/3 technical support and escalation for end users as needed
  • Support voice, video, and data communication systems
  • Analyze user needs and recommend technology solutions
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and procedures

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3–10 years of systems administration experience in a mixed environment
  • Experience with endpoint deployment and imaging processes
  • Familiarity with software licensing models and asset tracking
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting Autodesk products
  • Experience with VMware virtualization environments
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS platforms
  • Experience managing Cisco / Meraki networking equipment
  • Experience with PDQ Deploy / SmartDeploy or similar deployment tools
  • Knowledge of Windows Server environments
  • Programming or scripting experience (automation-focused preferred)
  • Exposure to or experience with LLMs, AI tools, or machine learning technologies
  • Industry certifications such as A+, security-related certifications, or vendor-specific certifications
