Join Our Team as a Configuration Management Lead at Epiroc!
The Configuration Engineer supports the production environment by ensuring the accurate definition, control, and implementation of product configurations, including Bills of Material (BOM), routings, and engineering changes. This role bridges engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain to ensure that changes to product design and structure are correctly documented, validated, and integrated into production systems
Work Type: Onsite
Shift Timings: Monday - Friday, typically 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM (shifts can flex 30 minutes earlier or later)
Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain product configurations and structures (BOMs, routings) in the ERP system (e.g., Infor M3, SAP).
  • Lead the implementation of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) from initiation through release and ensure timely and accurate communication to production and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to validate and integrate changes.
  • Ensure all configuration documentation complies with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Support production by troubleshooting configuration issues related to product build, components, or documentation.
  • Maintain version control and revision history for all configurable items.
  • Develop and improve processes for configuration management, including workflows, approval processes, and reporting tools.
  • Train and support users in configuration management tools and processes.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance product structure accuracy and reduce rework or delays in production.
  • Ensure effectivity dates and revision control are properly managed to avoid impact on active production.

Knowledge/Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in configuration management, preferably in a manufacturing or production setting.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Infor M3 preferred) and PLM systems.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong understanding of BOM structures, product lifecycle management, and revision control.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and documentation skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Problem-solving mindset and the ability to manage multiple change requests and priorities.
  • Knowledge of configuration management principles (e.g., CMII, ISO 10007) is a plus.

The work environment in the mining and construction industries presents unique and dynamic challenges not typically found in other professions.
