Job description

Trend Micro, a global cybersecurity leader, helps make the world safe for exchanging digital information across enterprises, governments, and consumers. Fueled by decades of security expertise, global threat research, and continuous innovation, Trend harnesses AI to protect organizations and individuals across clouds, networks, devices, and endpoints. The Trend Vision One enterprise cybersecurity platform accelerates proactive security outcomes by predicting and preventing threats across the entire digital estate and environments like AWS, Google, Microsoft, and NVIDIA.

Position Summary

The Senior Director of Market Influence & Authority is responsible for establishing TrendAI as the most trusted and visible authority in AI cybersecurity. This leader defines how the company earns credibility, shapes industry perception, and amplifies its voice across analysts, media, customers, and the broader cybersecurity community. Working closely with Product and Vertical Marketing, Threat Research, and Regional Marketing, this role translates TrendAI’s strategy and story into coordinated market influence – ensuring the company’s expertise is consistently seen, trusted, and recognized worldwide. This role leads the global programs and teams responsible for analyst relations, industry influence, executive visibility, media relations, social strategy, customer advocacy, and flagship industry experiences.

Why This Role Matters

As TrendAI evolves into a next-generation on AI cybersecurity leader, market perception and authority will directly influence growth trajectory. This role will define how the world sees TrendAI. The objective is not simply visibility, but authority – ensuring TrendAI is recognized as a defining leader in AI security.

ResponsibilitiesDefine the Market Authority Strategy

Develop and lead the global strategy for how TrendAI builds influence, credibility, and trust in the market.

  • How TrendAI earns recognition as the leading authority in AI security
  • Where and how the company shows up in the cybersecurity conversation
  • The role of analysts, industry influencers, research, customers, and executives in shaping perception
  • The platforms and experiences that reinforce the company’s leadership

Ensure TrendAI’s voice is consistent, credible, and impossible to ignore in the AI security category.

Orchestrate Global Market Influence & Organizational Scope

Partner closely with Product Marketing, Brand, and Web teams to ensure TrendAI’s thought leadership, research, and market insights are consistently translated into authoritative content and narratives that reinforce the company’s leadership. Lead and align the teams and programs responsible for market presence and external influence.

  • Analyst relations
  • Influencer and practitioner communities
  • Global events and executive experiences
  • Executive communications and speaking strategy
  • Public relations and media engagement
  • Social strategy and real-time narrative participation
  • Evangelism and thought leadership programs
  • Customer advocacy and reference programs
  • Executive Briefing Center experiences

Focus on ensuring these programs operate as a coordinated influence system, reinforcing TrendAI’s authority rather than functioning as disconnected marketing activities.

Measure, Learn, and Adapt Market Influence

Establish clear frameworks for measuring market authority and influence. Define and leverage analytics and AI-driven insights to monitor market sentiment, identify emerging conversations, and continuously optimize TrendAI’s influence strategy.

  • Share of voice in cybersecurity and AI security discussions
  • Analyst positioning and recognition
  • Media and industry perception
  • Executive visibility and credibility
  • Engagement with TrendAI’s research and insights
  • Customer advocacy participation and influence

Use these insights to refine strategy and investments to ensure TrendAI’s influence continues to grow and adapt as the market evolves.

Leadership Profile

The ideal leader for this role combines strategic thinking with strong market instincts. They understand how influence and credibility are built in technology markets and can orchestrate multiple programs and voices into a cohesive market presence.

  • A strategic architect of market authority
  • Adept at building, developing, and leveraging a team to achieve success
  • A strong cross-functional collaborator
  • Skilled at translating expertise into influence
  • Comfortable bridging between executive and practitioner levels
  • Experience leveraging AI and data platforms to analyze market sentiment, influence dynamics, and engagement patterns

Recognize that authority is built through credibility, consistency, and insight, not volume.

Qualifications
  • 10+ years in strategic B2B marketing leadership (cybersecurity or enterprise SaaS preferred)
  • Experience overseeing multiple authority/influence channels
  • Proven ability to elevate brand perception during transformation
  • Strong executive presence and stakeholder management
  • Deep understanding of analyst ecosystem
  • Data-driven mindset with ROI discipline
  • Global leadership experience

  • 401(k) with company match
