Description

We are a Clinical Testing Lab that services our independent Physician Clinics throughout the Twin Cities. Our patient demographics are outpatients. Therefore, our Laboratory Operation hours do not include weekends, second and third shifts or holidays. We are a for-profit Laboratory Services division of i-Health, our salaries and employee incentives are very competitive. We are looking for talented Laboratorians who want to deliver the best quality patient care in a clinical lab setting, where the focus is teamwork and our patients that we serve.

This is a part time position working 2 days per week 3pm-5:30pm (could be later to accommodate work schedules).

The Cytotechnologist is responsible for accurately diagnosing cytologic specimens and supporting efficient laboratory operations through adherence to established workflows, regulatory standards, and quality practices.

Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices, owned and led by its physicians, on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare.

Essential Functions:
  • Follows Cytology workflows for reporting of results while maintaining best laboratory practices to deliver quality outcomes.
  • Performs accurate diagnosing of cytologic specimens per established protocols.
  • Follows checks and balances in processes to prevent laboratory errors.
  • Participates in the laboratory education program.
  • Maintains a reasonable turn-around time for ThinPrep specimens and communicates to leadership and stakeholders if there are deviations.
  • Demonstrate laboratory troubleshooting skills and critical thinking.
  • Utilize lean concepts to aid in laboratory best practices.
  • Demonstrate understanding and experience with CAP, CLIA, OSHA, and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Maintains individual workload records.
  • Reviews procedures and policies using the laboratory's Quality Management System.
  • Maintain Cytology equipment per manufacturer requirements.
  • Must be able to work well independently and in a team setting.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a biological science.
  • Completion of a Cytotechnologist training program with Certification as a Cytotechnologist

Benefits & Compensation:

  • Actual starting pay will vary based on education, skills, and experience.
  • A sign-on bonus will be offered for select roles, payable on first paycheck with a 12-month commitment. Internal applicants are not eligible for the sign-on bonus.

Working Conditions:

  • Frequentlylift up to 50 pounds independently and occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, and move continuously throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to frequently perform physical activities such as pushing, pulling, and reaching.
  • Visual acuity to read electronic and paper documents.
  • Auditory ability to participate in phone or video calls clearly.
  • Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment (e.g., computer, phone, printer).
