Job Title: Medical Assistant (MA)
Location: st.Louis , Missouri 63110
Shift: Day Shift | 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Job Type: Per Diem

Position Summary:

ATC Healthcare Services is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant (MA) to provide clinical and administrative support in an ambulatory care setting. The Medical Assistant will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver quality patient care while ensuring efficient clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and assist healthcare providers during procedures.
  • Perform clinical duties such as specimen collection, EKGs, injections, and point-of-care testing within scope of practice.
  • Administer medications and immunizations as permitted by state regulations and facility policy.
  • Schedule patient appointments and coordinate referrals.
  • Maintain accurate patient records in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Prepare, clean, and stock examination rooms and medical equipment.
  • Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, follow-up care, and preventive health practices.
  • Follow infection prevention, HIPAA, and safety protocols at all times.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Support daily clinic operations and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
  • Current Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) preferred or required by facility policy.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of recent experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory, outpatient, or clinic setting preferred.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and patient care skills.
