Job Title: Nurse Aide

Location: Simpson General Hospital โ€“ Mendenhall, MS

Status: Full Time

Reports To: RN Supervisor / Director of Nursing

Position Summary:

The Nurse Aide assists patients with daily living activities and provides support under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role plays a vital part in delivering direct patient care, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and ensuring the dignity and comfort of those we serve.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients with bathing, grooming, oral care, dressing, ambulating, and feeding
  • Support patient admissions/discharges, including belongings inventory and audits
  • Monitor and report vital signs, intake/output, and patient conditions
  • Provide one-on-one patient interaction and support therapeutic activities
  • Assist with mealtime preparation, tray delivery/pickup, and feeding if needed
  • Maintain clean and safe patient environments (make beds, empty bedpans, etc.)
  • Turn, reposition, and provide toileting needs for bedbound patients
  • Support patient transportation to tests, therapy, and physician visits
  • Observe/report pressure areas or changes in physical/emotional status
  • Maintain accurate documentation and attend required training sessions
  • Comply with infection control procedures and use PPE as directed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED (Required); Associate degree (Preferred)
  • Experience: 1 year of Med/Surg care experience strongly preferred
