ABB Robot Programmer – Automation

Location: Grand Rapids, MI (Initial Build Phase) → South Carolina (Project Deployment in August)
Job Type: 6-Month Contract

Position Overview

GableTek is seeking experienced ABB Robot Programmers to support a large-scale automation project beginning in Grand Rapids, Michigan and shipping to South Carolina in August. This is a hands-on role supporting automated manufacturing systems, robot integration, startup, commissioning, and production support in a fast-paced industrial environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong ABB robot programming and troubleshooting experience within automotive or industrial automation environments and be comfortable traveling for installation and launch support.

Responsibilities
  • Program, troubleshoot, and optimize ABB robotic systems
  • Support automation equipment startup, integration, and commissioning
  • Perform robot touch-ups, recoveries, and production support
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and process-related automation issues
  • Work closely with controls engineers, machine builders, and project teams
  • Modify robot paths, I/O, and tooling as needed during launch activities
  • Support onsite installation and production ramp-up in South Carolina
  • Maintain safety and quality standards throughout all phases of the project
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of ABB Robot Programming experience
  • Experience with automated assembly or manufacturing systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot robots, tooling, and automation equipment independently
