What are Independent Logistics Contractors?

Independent Logistics Contractors are self-employed professionals or businesses that provide logistics services such as transportation, delivery, or freight management on a contract basis for companies. Unlike traditional employees, they operate their own vehicles or fleets and manage their own schedules, taking on multiple clients as needed. Their responsibilities may include picking up and delivering goods, route planning, and ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to safety and compliance regulations. This arrangement offers flexibility but also requires contractors to handle their own insurance, taxes, and business expenses. Many companies rely on independent logistics contractors to scale their operations efficiently, especially during peak demand periods.
