What We’re Looking For

We’re hiring Field Inspection Technicians to join our growing field team in Sioux City, IA. In this role, you'll inspect energized transformers and collect oil samples that are shipped to our lab in Northeast Ohio. You’ll be an essential part of keeping the power grid running smoothly—and we’ll make sure you’re fully trained and supported through our paid, 8- week training program.


What You’ll Bring to SDMyers
  • Mechanical or electrical experience preferred

  • Ability to travel weekly (Monday–Friday), home on weekends

  • Commitment to safety and a strong work ethic

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

  • Ability to pass a physical and drug screen

  • Independence, integrity, and initiative—this is a solo field role representing SDMyers to customers


What You Should Know
  • You’ll work outdoors—in clean or dirty environments, around wildlife, and in all weather

  • Extensive driving in a company vehicle; occasional air travel required

  • You’ll work around live electrical equipment in industrial settings—we provide complete safety training, uniforms, PPE, and equipment

  • Weekly travel: Monday return Friday—home on weekends.

  • Must be able to pass Hair Follicle drug test and BG check.
