Job description

Reman Business Development & Sales Executive
AMBAC International Corporation

Full-Time | Hybrid | Elgin, South Carolina

Relocation assistance available for the right candidate

Build Relationships. Grow the Reman Business.

AMBAC International is a 100-year-old, employee-owned precision manufacturing company known for its fuel-injection expertise and commitment to keeping critical diesel equipment operating.

Our remanufacturing business gives customers a reliable, cost-effective alternative to replacing valuable components. We restore products to demanding performance and quality standards while helping customers reduce downtime, control costs, and extend equipment life.

We are looking for a sales professional who can grow AMBAC’s remanufacturing business by developing new customers, expanding existing accounts, and building strong relationships across the heavy-duty diesel, industrial, defense, and specialty-equipment markets.

This is not a traditional inside-sales position. You will spend time prospecting, visiting customers, attending industry events, identifying opportunities, and working closely with AMBAC’s operations and technical teams to deliver solutions.

The Opportunity

As the Reman Business Development & Sales Executive, you will own the development and growth of an assigned market, territory, or customer portfolio.

You will build new business while strengthening AMBAC’s relationships with current customers. You will serve as the commercial connection between the customer and AMBAC’s remanufacturing operation—from identifying an opportunity through quoting, closing, delivery, and continued account development.

This role is well-suited for someone who enjoys opening doors, learning technical products, solving customer problems, and taking ownership of results.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop new remanufacturing business through outbound prospecting, networking, referrals, and customer visits.
  • Grow existing accounts by identifying additional products, applications, and service opportunities.
  • Build relationships with distributors, fleets, repair facilities, OEMs, government customers, and other industry partners.
  • Conduct regular customer visits and manage sales activity throughout the assigned territory.
  • Respond to qualified inbound opportunities and convert them into long-term customer relationships.
  • Understand customer applications, operating challenges, volumes, and purchasing requirements.
  • Work with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Finance to assess opportunities and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Prepare and present quotations, proposals, and commercial recommendations.
  • Negotiate opportunities and move them through the sales process to close.
  • Maintain an accurate and active pipeline using AMBAC’s CRM and sales-management tools.
  • Develop account plans, forecasts, and territory-growth strategies.
  • Attend trade shows, customer meetings, distributor events, and industry conferences.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, pricing, and customer feedback.
  • Support successful customer onboarding and remain engaged after the sale.
  • Represent AMBAC professionally and strengthen its reputation throughout the market.

What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications

  • Experience in outside sales, territory sales, account management, business development, or technical sales.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop new business and grow existing customer relationships.
  • Experience in prospecting and independently managing a sales pipeline.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to learn technical products and explain their value to different customer audiences.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout an assigned territory.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work from AMBAC’s Elgin facility one to two days during a typical week, depending on travel and business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in heavy-duty diesel, fuel injection, remanufacturing, industrial equipment, defense, transportation, automotive aftermarket, or technical manufacturing.
  • Experience selling to distributors, fleets, repair facilities, OEMs, government organizations, or industrial customers.
  • Familiarity with component repair, overhaul, remanufacturing, or aftermarket-service models.
  • Experience using CRM systems and developing sales forecasts.
  • Experience working in a growing, entrepreneurial, or evolving commercial organization.

Who You Are
You are someone who:

  • Enjoys developing new relationships and opening new accounts.
  • Is comfortable making outbound calls and asking for business.
  • Builds credibility by listening, following through, and solving problems.
  • Understands that consistent prospecting creates long-term results.
  • Takes ownership of the full sales cycle.
  • Is comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with internal teams.
  • Learns technical information quickly and asks thoughtful questions.
  • Is disciplined about pipeline management and follow-up.
  • Handles rejection without losing momentum.
  • Looks for opportunities rather than waiting for them to appear.
  • Is willing to get close to the product, the customer, and the operation.

Why AMBAC?

AMBAC is 100% employee-owned through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan. Our employees have a direct stake in the company’s long-term success.

We also practice open-book management through the Great Game of Business. Employees are expected to understand how the company makes money, how their decisions affect performance, and how we win together.

In this role, your results will have a visible effect on AMBAC’s growth, manufacturing operation, and employee-owners.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive base salary plus performance-based commission.
  • Employee Stock Ownership Plan.
  • 401(k).
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Paid time off and paid holidays.
  • Continuing education and professional-development support.
  • Company-supported business travel.
  • Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.

The Reality

This role requires more than managing existing customer requests. You will be expected to develop opportunities, build relationships, spend time in the market, and work across AMBAC to turn customer needs into profitable remanufacturing business.

The processes and market strategy will continue to evolve. The successful candidate will be comfortable contributing to that development rather than waiting for a completely established sales system.

If you want to own a territory, build a market, and help grow an employee-owned manufacturing company, we would like to hear from you.

AMBAC International Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
