Job description

We are seeking a Routing & Dispatch Specialist to join our team at Independent Living Systems (ILS). ILS, along with its affiliated health plans known as Florida Community Care and Florida Complete Care, is committed to promoting a higher quality of life and maximizing independence for all vulnerable populations.

About the Role:

The Routing & Dispatch Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and timely movement of goods and services by managing the routing and dispatching of vehicles. This position is responsible for coordinating daily schedules, optimizing routes to reduce costs and delivery times, and responding promptly to any logistical challenges that arise. The specialist acts as a communication hub between drivers, customers, and management to maintain smooth operations and high service standards. By leveraging technology and data analysis, the role aims to improve overall operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Ultimately, the Routing & Dispatch Specialist ensures that all deliveries and service calls are executed accurately and on schedule, supporting the company’s commitment to reliability and excellence.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in routing, dispatching, or logistics coordination.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation and delivery operations.
  • Proficiency with routing and dispatch software or GPS tracking systems.
  • Excellent communication and organizational capabilities.
  • Relevant experience may substitute for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Experience with advanced route optimization tools and data analysis software.
  • Familiarity with transportation regulations and safety standards.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings or weekends as needed.
  • Customer service experience in a logistics or transportation environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and assign routes to drivers based on delivery schedules, traffic conditions, and customer priorities.
  • Monitor real-time vehicle locations and adjust dispatch plans as needed to address delays or emergencies.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal teams to provide updates and resolve issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, delivery statuses, and driver logs.
  • Analyze routing data to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
  • Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and company policies.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule vehicle servicing and minimize downtime.
