Job Summary**
Primoris Services Corporation is seeking an experienced Rig Welder for projects in Galveston, TX. This role involves performing high-quality welding and fabrication on various heavy equipment and structural components in an industrial construction environment.
Job Responsibilities**
* Perform welding tasks using various processes (e.g., SMAW, FCAW, GTAW) on diverse materials (e.g., carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum) in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
* Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding procedure specifications (WPS).
* Operate and maintain welding equipment, including welders, grinders, and cutting torches.
* Prepare workpieces for welding, including cleaning, grinding, and fitting.
* Conduct visual inspections of welds to ensure quality and compliance.
* Perform repairs and modifications to existing structures and equipment.
* Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
* Maintain a clean and organized work area.
* Work collaboratively with other team members and trades.
* Complete necessary paperwork and documentation related to work performed.
Job Qualifications**
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience as a Rig Welder in an industrial or heavy construction setting.
* Current welding certifications (e.g., AWS D1.1) are highly preferred.
* Proficiency in various welding processes, including SMAW (stick), FCAW (flux-cored arc welding), and GTAW (TIG).
* Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
* Experience with pipe welding and structural welding.
* Familiarity with various metal types and their welding requirements.
* Ability to operate heavy equipment, including forklifts and man lifts, is a plus.
* Must possess strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, and in various weather conditions as required.
* Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
* Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
