Job description

Overview

Devereux has an exciting opportunity to become a Behavioral Health Technician with our Pocono Center.

This is an Independent Contractor position.


The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) is responsible for the implementation of behavioral intervention plans which are individualized to each child or adolescent, and to family needs. Services are not a substitution for primary care giver They cannot baby sit, diaper, toilet, or transport our child. The BHT does not work alone with the child, but must be in the presence of the parent, teacher or primary care giver. Devereux Pocono Center provides programs and services for adults and children with developmental disabilities. This position is responsible for supporting children in the community as a part of our IBHS services.

Main Site Address: 1547 Mill Creek Road, Newfoundland, PA 18445

* This role provides services in the community.

Area of service includes: Carbon, Lackawanna, Monroe, Pike, and Wayne counties in NEPA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct services and support, in the child's home, school or community setting
  • Implements the interventions outlined in the treatment plan
  • Assists the child in developing age-appropriate behaviors and coping skills
  • Offers support and transfers appropriate interventions to the child or caregiver
  • Complete necessary data tracking
  • Attends weekly supervision

PAY RATE: $23.00/hr

Standard Payment for Sign-On: Payment for sign-on will be made in the following increments. $200.00 at the time of full completion of training, contract requirements, and on-boarding, $200.00 after the first case worked, and $200.00 at 90 days after the first case worked, all provided that the Contractor has met the requirements set forth.

FOR APPLICANTS PRIOR TO 12/31/2026...INCREASED Sign-On Bonus Opportunity! For those who complete on-boarding, training, and provide services within 1 month of the offer, your sign-on bonus payment will be increased to $2000.00 total made in the following increments. $500.00 at the time of full completion of training, contract requirements, and on-boarding, $500.00 after the first case worked, and $1000.00 at 6 months after the first case worked.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience: Human service experience working with children, adolescents, or adults preferred.
