The Role:
The Industrial Pipefitter / Pipe Welder is responsible for the layout, fabrication, installation, welding, and maintenance of industrial piping systems in our customer facilities. This role involves working with high-pressure and process piping systems that transport steam, compressed air, chemicals, water, gas, and other industrial fluids. The position requires the ability to read complex drawings, perform accurate pipe layout and fit-up, and complete high-quality welds in accordance with project specifications, codes, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Layout, fabricate, install, and maintain industrial piping systems including carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy, and specialty piping materials
  • Read and interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
  • Measure, cut, bevel, thread, groove, and fit pipe using hand tools, power tools, and pipe fabrication equipment
  • Perform pipe fit-up and alignment in preparation for welding
  • Weld piping systems using approved welding procedures and processes where required (primarily GTAW, but also SMAW and GMAW)
Qualifications:
  • Licenced 307A, preferred
  • Valid welding certifications for pipe welding processes (i.e. CWB, TSSA), preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in industrial pipefitting and pipe welding
  • Experience with shutdown work, plant maintenance, and system commissioning
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, piping isometrics, and mechanical drawings
  • Strong pipe layout and fabrication skills
  • Experience welding carbon steel and stainless-steel pipe
  • Knowledge of welding procedures, joint preparation, and weld inspection requirements
  • Strong understanding of industrial piping systems including steam, compressed air, water, and process piping
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an industrial team
  • Strong attention to safety and quality of workmanship
