Join InServ, a leading industrial contractor serving life sciences, advanced manufacturing, and food & beverage sectors. We're hiring experienced Pipe Welders to join our pre-fabrication shop team and assist in the field.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lay out, fit and weld fabricated, cast and forged pipe components to assemble structural forms (machinery frames, tanks, pressure vessels, piping headers, furnace shells, building and bridge parts according to blueprints and welding/metallurgy knowledge.
  • Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding, using knowledge of geometry, metal properties, weld shrinkage and welding techniques
  • Position, align and fit components together; secure parts with bolts, clamps and tack welds.
  • Thread pipe of all sizes
  • Set up equipment and weld parts using SMAW, GMAW, and TIG welding processes
  • Assemble parts by bolting and riveting as needed
  • Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts using cutting torch, straightening press, and hand tools
  • Maintain certification in in SMAW, GMAW, and TIG welding processes

Tool and Equipment:

  • Must possess the minimum tools required for Welders under InServ Policy
  • Proficient in using:
    • Power drills, grinders, and saws
    • Pipe threading equipment of all types and sizes
    • Electric, propane, and diesel-powered welding machines
    • Plasma cutting machines
    • Hand tools for lifting, positioning, and aligning (dollies, skates, chain falls, come-alongs, etc.)

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of field experience working as a pipe welder on commercial/industrial projects.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain schedule after receiving direction
  • Strong problem-solving and logical reasoning skills
  • Ability to:
    • Perform work within established InServ quality and time standards
    • Adapt to changing duties
    • Perform accurate arithmetic operations quickly
    • Interpret blueprints and visualize 3D objects from flat drawings

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Work skillfully with hands
  • Climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolds
  • See well (naturally or with correction) and distinguish colors
  • Reach for, handle, and grasp pipe, tubing, and hand tools
  • Bend, crouch, and work in small places
  • Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • Exposure to varying weather conditions (cold, rain, heat)
  • High noise levels
  • Occasional high-stress situations
