Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician performs preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment, machinery, and facility systems. The ideal candidate will possess technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently to ensure the safety, efficiency, and operational continuity of our facilities. The Maintenance Technician will work closely with the maintenance team to address a variety of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and Repairs: Perform regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems and equipment.
- Preventive Maintenance: Follow and document preventive maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime and prevent unexpected failures.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and operational issues with equipment and systems in a timely manner to reduce disruptions.
- System Inspections: Conduct routine inspections of systems and machinery to identify wear, damage, or areas requiring repair or replacement.
- Installation and Setup: Assist with the installation and setup of new equipment or systems, ensuring proper functionality and safety standards.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance tasks comply with safety regulations and company policies, including environmental and regulatory requirements.
- Vendor and Contractor Coordination: Assist in coordinating third-party vendors or contractors for specialized repairs or system installations.
- Work Orders: Respond promptly to work orders and maintenance requests, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and operational impact.
- Team Support: Collaborate with the maintenance team to address complex issues, provide technical expertise, and share best practices for efficient repairs.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience: More than 2 years of hands-on experience in maintenance, equipment repair, or facilities management.
- Skills:
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems and equipment.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and machinery.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly identify and resolve issues.
- Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for tracking work orders and maintenance logs.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Basic knowledge of safety and environmental regulations related to facility maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications (but not required):
- Education: Associate's degree in Industrial Maintenance, Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, or related field.
- Experience: More than 2 years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or commercial setting.
- Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing systems, and facility equipment.
- Proficiency with sewing machines, auto cutter/spreaders, paint systems, welders, or machining equipment.
- Certification of safety or environmental regulations related to facility maintenance.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and carry equipment/tools.
- Ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and perform tasks at various heights.
- Comfortable working in different environmental conditions, including varying temperatures and noise levels.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime or on-call shifts as needed for emergency repairs.
Work Environment:
- 2nd Shift - 1:30-11:30p - 4-day work week
- Work in an industrial, manufacturing, or commercial facility.
- Potential exposure to hazardous materials, chemicals, and noisy environments.
- Safety gear (PPE) is required in certain areas of the facility.
