Job description

Description

ICM Solutions is seeking a Shop Service Technician to support the repair, rebuild, and fabrication of crushing and aggregate processing equipment. Approximately 75% of this role is focused on traditional shop and yard repair work, with the remaining 25% dedicated to operating and supporting our CNC plasma burn table.

The ideal candidate is focused first on safety, has strong welding and mechanical skills, experience working on heavy equipment, and some burn table experience. This individual will help develop best practices for our burn table operation and assist in training other team members. Burn table responsibilities are focused on operation, quality, maintenance, and training, not purchasing or material procurement.

Key Responsibilities

Shop Service & Equipment Repair (75%)

  • Perform repairs, rebuilds, maintenance, and fabrication on crushing, screening, and conveying equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and repair drawings.
  • Perform FCAW, GMAW, SMAW welding and carbon arc gouging.
  • Diagnose equipment issues and help develop repair solutions.
  • Work safely and follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Support and mentor less experienced team members.

Burn Table Operations (25%)

  • Set up and operate CNC plasma/burn table equipment to cut parts from plate material.
  • Read and interpret drawings, cut files, and work orders.
  • Load and unload materials using appropriate lifting equipment.
  • Inspect finished parts for quality and accuracy.
  • Perform routine machine cleaning, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Help develop ICM-specific burn table processes and train other employees on safe and effective operation.
  • Maintain a safe and organized burn table work area.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in heavy equipment repair, welding, fabrication, or industrial maintenance.
  • Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols.
  • Experience with FCAW, GMAW, and SMAW welding processes.
  • Basic burn table, plasma table, or CNC cutting experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Heavy construction, aggregate, or mining equipment experience.
  • Experience with crushing and screening equipment.
  • Experience with Metso equipment.
  • Bore welding and machining experience.
  • Previous experience training or mentoring others.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and work in a shop or yard environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to safely operate welding, material handling, and fabrication equipment.
  • Ability to wear required PPE and work around noise, dust, heat, and welding fumes.

Why ICM Solutions?

  • Fast-growing company with big ambitions-to be the best crushing, underground mining rebuild, and white paving dealer in North America.
  • Strong, people-focused culture where your work truly makes an impact.
  • Competitive benefits: PTO, medical/dental/vision/life insurance, 401(k) with company match, and more.
