Industrial HVAC / Refrigeration Maintenance Technician

Company: Mid-South Facility Services (MSFS)

Location: Memphis, TN | North Mississippi | Eastern Arkansas

Position Overview

Mid-South Facility Services (MSFS) is seeking an experienced Industrial HVAC & Refrigeration Maintenance Technician to support manufacturing and industrial facilities throughout the Mid-South. This position focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing commercial and industrial HVAC, refrigeration, and mechanical systems in fast-paced production environments.

We are looking for technicians who are dependable, safety-focused, and capable of working independently or as part of a maintenance team during scheduled maintenance, emergency breakdowns, plant shutdowns, and capital projects.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial HVAC systems
  • Service rooftop units (RTUs), make-up air units (MAUs), air handlers (AHUs), exhaust systems, and split systems
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control issues
  • Install, replace, and commission HVAC equipment
  • Repair chilled water and hot water systems
  • Service boilers, unit heaters, and process heating equipment
  • Troubleshoot VFDs, motors, bearings, belts, pulleys, and drives
  • Maintain cooling towers and condenser water systems
  • Repair and replace compressors, evaporators, condensers, TXVs, and expansion valves
  • Read blueprints, electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, and P&IDs
  • Perform system balancing and airflow diagnostics
  • Document completed work orders and maintenance records
  • Work safely around energized equipment and operating production lines

Industrial Equipment Experience

Refrigeration Experience

Experience servicing:

  • Scroll compressors
  • Screw compressors
  • Reciprocating compressors
  • Semi-hermetic compressors
  • Walk-in coolers and freezers
  • Process refrigeration systems
  • Glycol systems
  • Chilled water loops
  • Refrigerant recovery and charging
  • Leak detection and repair

Electrical & Controls

Preferred experience with:

  • 24V, 120V, 208V, 240V, 277V, 480V systems
  • Electrical troubleshooting
  • Contactors, relays, overloads, transformers
  • Temperature controls
  • Pressure controls
  • Humidity controls
  • Sensors and transmitters
  • Thermostats
  • Control wiring
  • VFD programming and troubleshooting
  • PLC interfaces

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of industrial or commercial HVAC experience
  • EPA Universal Certification (required or ability to obtain)
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical prints
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial facilities
  • Welding, brazing, and pipefitting experience is a plus
  • Ammonia refrigeration experience is a major plus
