Job description

Piping/Mechanical Estimating Manager
Contractor Service & Fabrication, Inc. (CSFCO) is seeking an Estimating Manager - Piping/Mechanical to join our team. As an Estimating Manager, you will be responsible for calculating accurate major construction cost estimates and will be involved in the planning, development, negotiation, and contract execution of these projects. This position is responsible for the overall management of the estimating department.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and great attention to detail. You should have a proven record of successfully negotiating with a range of professionals, making accurate time and cost estimates, and resolving any issues that arise.
Estimator Responsibilities:
  • Determine the total cost of materials, equipment, utilities, labor, and indirects for industrial construction projects.
  • Research construction documents and analyze specifications.
  • Prepare estimates for planning, organizing, and scheduling project work.
  • Prepare estimates to meet project goals, sequence tasks, obtain materials, and secure the best deals with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Ensure that relevant documents and budgets are submitted before a bid deadline.
  • Regularly report to management and keep clients updated on the project status.
  • Identify risks, formulate contingency plans, and effectively manage risks that might impact the cost and schedule of the estimates.
  • Keep track of the latest estimating technology and industry-related techniques.
  • Collaborate with other teams, conduct site visits, and provide other services, such as bid deliveries, when required.

Estimator Requirements:
  • At least seven (7) years of experience as an estimator in the industrial construction field (preferred).
  • Exceptional time management, multitasking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent management and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to closely collaborate with other project teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent research, proposal writing, and oral presentation skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of best industry practices and standards.
  • Advanced computer skills and demonstrable competency with ProEst estimating software.
  • Ability to travel and perform site visits.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to read and communicate in English to understand technical documents, safety procedures, and instructions relevant to job duties. English proficiency is required due to operational and safety communication needs.
