They typically operate on a contract or freelance basis and often work remotely, meaning they can provide their services from any location. Their responsibilities include designing website layouts, coding, ensuring user experience and accessibility, and collaborating with clients to meet specific needs. Independent contractors manage their own schedules, handle client communications, and are responsible for their own taxes and business expenses.

These skills are crucial for producing high-quality, user-friendly websites while managing multiple projects independently in a remote setting.

Job description

Location: Remote (United States) Type: Part-Time Compensation: $110–$145 per hour (approximately $114,000–$151,000 annualized at 20 hours per week)

The Opportunity

Our client is hiring physicians for a consistent part-time commitment of 10 to 20 hours per week. Unlike PRN work, this role comes with a predictable weekly block — you pick your days and times during onboarding and keep them.

Many of our part-time physicians hold a separate primary role, are winding down a clinical practice, or are balancing family commitments. The schedule is designed to be sustainable indefinitely rather than something you work around.

Core Responsibilities
  • Conduct virtual patient visits during your committed weekly hours

  • Own a defined patient panel where continuity is clinically valuable

  • Complete charting within the same session as the encounter

  • Participate in a monthly clinical team touchpoint (60 minutes, counted toward your hours)

  • Contribute to protocol refinement as our clinical scope expands

Why Physicians Stay
  • Fixed, predictable weekly schedule you help design

  • Pro-rated benefits available at 20 hours per week

  • Malpractice coverage and CME stipend included

  • No administrative burden outside of clinical documentation

  • Direct access to a Medical Director for clinical questions

Qualifications
  • MD or DO with completion of an ACGME-accredited residency

  • Board certified or board eligible in a primary care or emergency specialty

  • Active, unrestricted medical license and DEA registration

  • 3+ years of independent clinical practice

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain quality and throughput in a documentation-heavy environment

  • Active, unrestricted medical licensure in a minimum of three U.S. states

  • Professional working proficiency in Spanish, sufficient to conduct a complete clinical encounter without an interpreter

  • Experience with Epic, Athena, or a comparable EMR

Next Steps

Apply with your CV. Our recruiting team will schedule a 20-minute intro call to walk through scheduling options and licensure.

3. Moonlighting Telemedicine Physician (1099)

Location: Remote (United States) Type: 1099 Independent Contractor Compensation: $55–$75 per encounter plus performance incentive (effective rate typically $130–$175 per hour)

Overview

This is supplemental income for practicing physicians. You keep your primary role; we give you a flexible second stream of clinical work you can pick up in the evenings, on weekends, or during downtime.

Our highest-earning contractors work 8 to 15 hours a week across states where they hold licensure, and treat this as a deliberate diversification of their clinical income rather than an occasional side gig.

The Work
  • Claim available encounter volume through our provider portal

  • Conduct video and asynchronous visits within a defined clinical scope

  • Prescribe according to state-specific telemedicine rules, including asynchronous prescribing where permitted

  • Document to the standard required for payer and board review

  • No panel ownership, no continuity obligation, no on-call requirement

Contractor Terms
  • Paid per encounter, with a bonus tier for volume and quality metrics

  • Twice-monthly payment cycle

  • Malpractice coverage provided under our group policy

  • Full 1099 independent contractor status — you control your hours entirely

  • No non-compete affecting your primary employment

Qualifications
  • MD or DO, U.S.-trained or ECFMG certified

  • Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Urgent Care

  • Active, unrestricted license and DEA registration with full schedule authority

  • Currently practicing clinically, or within 12 months of active practice

  • Ability to work independently without on-site clinical support

  • Active, unrestricted medical licensure in a minimum of three U.S. states

  • Professional working proficiency in Spanish, sufficient to conduct a complete clinical encounter without an interpreter

  • Familiarity with asynchronous or store-and-forward care models is an advantage
