Independent Contractor Remote Oracle information

What is an independent contractor remote Oracle?

An Independent Contractor Remote Oracle is a professional who provides specialized Oracle-related services—such as database administration, development, or consulting—on a contractual basis from a remote location. Unlike full-time employees, independent contractors work for clients temporarily and manage their own business operations, taxes, and schedules. Their work can include implementing, maintaining, and optimizing Oracle systems, often collaborating with teams virtually. This role offers flexibility but requires strong self-management skills and expertise in Oracle technologies. Remote Oracle contractors are in demand for their ability to deliver expert solutions without being tied to a specific office location.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an independent contractor remote Oracle?

To thrive as an Independent Contractor Remote Oracle, you need deep expertise in Oracle database management, SQL, and relevant Oracle certifications such as OCP (Oracle Certified Professional). Familiarity with tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager, PL/SQL, and cloud platforms (e.g., Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) is typically required. Strong problem-solving skills, self-motivation, and effective communication are crucial for remote collaboration and client interaction. These skills ensure efficient database administration, successful project delivery, and high client satisfaction in a remote work environment.

What are some common challenges faced by independent contractors working remotely with Oracle systems, and how can they be addressed?

Independent contractors working remotely with Oracle systems often encounter challenges such as aligning with client-specific Oracle environments, managing secure access to databases, and ensuring clear communication across distributed teams. Staying updated with the latest Oracle updates and understanding client infrastructure is essential. To address these challenges, contractors should establish robust remote access protocols, maintain regular status meetings with clients, and leverage project management tools to stay organized and collaborative.

Job description

Providence Real Estate is looking for an agile, self-directed talent acquisition professional to join our contractor bench as an on-call recruiter. This isn't a steady nine-to-five - it's a flexible, project-based engagement for someone who can step in when hiring needs spike, ramp up fast, and run full-cycle recruiting from first sourcing call to signed offer with minimal oversight. If you thrive on variety, know how to build a candidate pipeline from scratch, and want the independence of contract work without sacrificing the challenge of real full-lifecycle ownership, we'd like to hear from you.

As positions open across our portfolio, you'll be brought in to source, screen, and secure top talent - working independently, but in close partnership with our hiring managers, so every search moves quickly and lands the right hire.

What You'll Do
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting operations for various open roles, including sourcing, initial screening, interviewing, and pipeline tracking.
  • Proactively source active and passive candidates using LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, and creative networking channels.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand role requirements and streamline interview steps.
  • Maintain clean, updated records and candidate pipelines within our Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Coordinate interview schedules and facilitate feedback loops between managers and candidates.
What You Bring
  • Proven experience managing full-cycle recruiting independently, with minimal day-to-day oversight.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and time-management skills.
  • Comfort ramping up quickly on new roles, teams, and hiring priorities.
  • Ability to work flexible, intermittent hours based on our active project pipeline.
The Engagement

This is a 1099 independent contractor position, engaged on a project-by-project basis as hiring needs arise. Work is fully remote, and hours will vary week to week depending on our active recruiting pipeline - some weeks may be heavier than others, and some may involve no active projects at all. This role suits someone who is already established as an independent recruiting contractor and can move between engagements comfortably.

How to Apply

Interested candidates should submit the following:

  • Your resume
  • Your preferred hourly rate
  • A brief overview of your weekly availability for intermittent, project-based work
