Upstairs, our clubhouse is dedicated to Intelligent Leisure, with three floors of dining, cultural programming, and spaces for our members to spend their free time intentionally and well. From our traditional sit-down restaurant to the vinyl listening room, there's a little something special for every personality. Down at Bedrock, the club's fitness and wellness destination, we've cultivated a hub of Physical Culture–two levels of premium gym facilities, aquatics, spa, and recovery experiences. Together, Moss and Bedrock create a holistic environment where members can move, restore, and connect in a refined, community-focused setting.

We are seeking a talented Licensed Nail Technician to join the Bedrock Spa team. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in manicures, pedicures, and nail artistry, with a strong commitment to luxury service, sanitation, and client care. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a holistic member experience in a refined, community-focused environment.

COMPENSATION:

The hourly wage for this position is $20.00 per hour, with the eligibility for commission of 50% on all treatment sessions conducted and additional 18% gratuity for services.

CLASSIFICATION:

This role is classified as an independent contractor. As a contractor, you acknowledge and agree that you are engaged as an independent contractor and not as an employee, agent, partner, or joint venture of Moss New York or it's affiliates. As an independent contractor, the contractor shall be solely responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes, including income tax, self-employment tax, and any other taxes, fees, or assessments arising from the compensation received under this agreement. The company will not withhold or remit any taxes on the contractor's behalf. The Contractor understands to comply with all applicable tax filing and payment obligations.

Independent contractors will be compensated on a Net 15 basis upon submission of an invoice to the business, along with a valid Form W-9 (including either a Social Security Number or Business EIN).

All independent contractors are required to maintain appropriate insurance coverage. A current Certificate of Insurance must be provided and approved prior to performing services or being granted access to club facilities.

EMPLOYEE BENEFITS:

The Contractor understands that they are not entitled to employee benefits provided by the Company, including but not limited to health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, or unemployment insurance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide customized nail services including classic and gel manicures, pedicures, nail art, and other treatments as permitted by NYS licensure.
  • Maintain the highest sanitation and sterilization standards in compliance with NYS regulations and Moss protocols.
  • Conduct consultations to assess guest needs, preferences, and any contraindications.
  • Educate members on nail health, home care regimens, and recommended follow-up services.
  • Deliver luxury-level service while ensuring comfort, discretion, and professionalism.
  • Maintain treatment areas to be pristine, organized, and aligned with Moss and Bedrock aesthetic standards.
  • Collaborate with fellow spa practitioners to support integrated wellness experiences.
  • Participate in ongoing training, workshops, and team meetings to maintain excellence and alignment with Moss values.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Current New York State Nail Specialty or Cosmetology License required.
  • 2+ years of experience in a luxury spa, salon, or hospitality environment preferred.
  • Proficiency in classic and gel nail services; nail art or advanced techniques a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of sanitation, health, and safety standards.
  • Exceptional guest service skills with a warm, professional demeanor.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.
  • CPR/AED certification preferred.
