Independent Contractor Personal Development information

What is the new independent contractor rule?

The new independent contractor rule refers to updated guidelines by the Department of Labor that clarify whether workers should be classified as employees or independent contractors based on factors like control over work and economic dependence. This rule aims to provide clearer criteria for worker classification, affecting how businesses manage freelance and gig workers, including those in personal development roles. It emphasizes a multi-factor analysis to determine worker status, impacting compliance and benefits eligibility.

What can you write off 100% as an independent contractor?

As an independent contractor in personal development, you can typically write off 100% of expenses directly related to your business, such as training materials, certifications, marketing costs, and necessary equipment. These deductions require proper documentation and must be ordinary and necessary for your work to qualify under IRS rules.

How can I make 2000 a week working from home?
