Job description

Night Operations Manager - Facilities Services

Permanent evening/overnight schedule: 5:00 p.m. to approximately 2:00-3:00 a.m.

City Wide Facility Solutions is seeking a dependable, self-directed Night Operations Manager to oversee service quality across multiple client locations.

This is a field-based position for someone who genuinely prefers working nights, is comfortable managing much of the shift independently, and communicates effectively with clients, internal team members, and independent contractor companies. You will begin your shift at 5:00 p.m. by reviewing priorities and your route with the Facility Solutions Manager. Client site visits may begin between 7:00 and 10:00 p.m., depending on that evening's schedule and operational needs.

The management model

The cleaning services at our client locations are performed by independent contractor companies. You will not directly supervise their employees.

Instead, you will manage service performance by building strong relationships with our independent service partners, inspecting completed work, communicating expectations, documenting deficiencies, following up on corrective actions, and escalating recurring concerns when necessary.

This position requires someone who can influence results without relying on formal authority. You must be able to maintain productive relationships while addressing problems directly, professionally, and consistently.

What you will do
  • Independently manage a nightly route covering multiple client locations.
  • Inspect facilities and compare completed work with the agreed-upon scope of service and client standards.
  • Identify service deficiencies and communicate clear, actionable feedback to independent contractor owners or supervisors.
  • Follow up to confirm that problems have been corrected rather than simply reported.
  • Respond professionally to client questions, concerns, and service requests.
  • Prioritize urgent issues and adjust your route when circumstances change.
  • Document inspections, conversations, corrective actions, and unresolved concerns accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain clear communication with the Facility Solutions Manager and other internal team members.
  • Identify recurring service issues and recommend practical improvements.
  • Support strong client relationships by taking ownership of problems through resolution.
What success looks like

Successful Night Operations Managers are dependable, organized, and comfortable making decisions in the field. They complete their routes and reporting consistently, communicate problems early, and follow through until issues are resolved.

They enjoy working independently but understand that they are part of a larger team. They know when to make a decision on their own, when to involve a contractor, and when an issue needs to be escalated internally.

Requirements

  • Required qualifications
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Three or more years of experience in operations, account management, vendor or contractor management, field supervision, facilities services, hospitality, property management, or another multi-site service environment.
    • Demonstrated ability to hold vendors, service partners, or teams accountable through communication, relationship-building, and consistent follow-up.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to conduct difficult conversations professionally.
    • Excellent organization, time-management, and prioritization skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and the ability to document findings accurately.
    • Ability and willingness to maintain a consistent evening/overnight work schedule.
    • Ability to travel regularly between client locations during the shift.
  • Preferred qualifications
    • Experience in commercial janitorial services, facilities management, building services, or another route-based service industry.
    • Experience managing service quality across multiple client locations.
    • Experience working with independent contractors, vendors, franchisees, or third-party service providers.

If this sounds like you, let's connect and make a difference together at City Wide Facility Solutions!
