The Graduate Assistant for Spiritual Life and Service will primarily be focused on aiding in the management of all student service related activities within the department. This work would include the oversight and management of our Orange Thread food pantry and career clothing closet as well as our Pioneers Serve programming. The position will assist and report to the Director of Spiritual Life and Service in the Department of Student Life. This is a two-year position with the expectation of successful graduation from Carroll University with a Master's Degree.

Responsibilities:

Assist the Director of Spiritual Life and Service in developing, implementing and evaluating a comprehensive service program which delivers quality and diverse programming opportunities.
Assist in providing leadership for and budget management of the Orange Thread food pantry and career clothing closet.
Assist in providing leadership for and budget management of service programming.
Assist in the planning and coordination of service events such as Service Saturdays, First-Year Day of Service, and Alternative Spring Break Programming.
Create marketing materials and promote student service activities and events to encourage maximum attendance by all students.
Aid in leading, motivating, supervising and evaluating the student staff in service.
Assess service program needs and develop new programming initiatives.
Act as a student advocate, providing guidance and appropriate referrals to students seeking assistance.
Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree is required
Previous experience in community service or student activities is preferred
Previous experience working in higher education is preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required; experience with databases is a plus
Maintain full time status in an eligible Carroll University graduate program is required (tuition is fully waived for the following graduate programs: Athletic Training, MBA, Exercise Science, Master of Education and Master of Arts in Teaching).
